Ok 3.6ghz=400x9 at 1.32v

http://img242.imageshack.us/my.php?image=untitle3600largecq6.jpg

But i think my E6420 is faster at 3.6ghz.So far benchmarks aint really impressing me with my 8800GTS 512mb and this Quad.It was a waste getting the 512mb version over the 320mb version with my monitor

Mot,

I wouldnt think the quad would be any faster than a duallie at the same speed unless the app takes advantage of 3 or more cores or the additional cache of the quad... So it is most likely revolves around the particular app you are running at the time.

when it comes to OC'n and overall performance..... is it better to just go with the stock multiplier (9X as with the Q6600) and raise the FSB to the fastest it can handle .... OR..... lower the multiplier and then raise the FSB to the fastest it can handle?

Or is this something that is going to be a motherboard to motherboard specific trait...

I just realized you were asking a question.Without the question marks i thought you were making a statement.
Its usally best to lower the multi to get a faster fsb. Most review sites lower the multi and raise the FSB to keep the cpu at its rated speed but still overclocking the ram and FSB for better performance.Which does work

sweet. Seems you got a good clocker there.

If you wanna stick with air, you should get a TR Ultra Extreme or similar for it, will keep it nice and cool.

Yeah Chris im pretty sure the extra 4mhz would have been no problem since it was booting with no issue's at all..Even though it was set to 445 in the bios i dont know why it was showing 444.

I have the thermalright Ultima-90 coming.Dub its equal to the Ultra 120 Extreme .The Extreme only beats it by 2c when the Ultima is running a 892mm fan.It can also use a 120mm fan which im gonna use.I have a 103cfm 120x38mm Panflo which will be runing of fmy sunbeam 4 fan rheobus.I had the 120 X and i didnt like the size but this cooler i much smaller but matchs the TRUE 120.But i might put my watercooling back in if i cant run this thing at 3.6 to 3.7ghz stable
