"k|ngp|n" and "FUGGER" use EVGA Hardware to break the 30K 3DMark06 barrier

Using an EVGA 780i SLI and a pair of EVGA 8800 Ultras "k|ngp|n" and "FUGGER," with a little help from Liquid Nitrogen, break the 3DMark06 World Record with an astonishing score of 30,606! EVGA is the first motherboard and video card company to be used in breaking the 30K 3DMark06 barrier. It is no wonder why with products such as the, EVGA NForce 780 SLI and EVGA e-GeForce 8800 Ultra Superclocked, EVGA is number one choice amongst overclockers, enthusiasts, and gamers.

Below you will find the featured 3DMark06 record breaking hardware. Don't forget to visit the EVGA products page to see the full line of award winning hardware.

08 comes out this year. I woudnt be surprised if its Vista only for some stupid reason too.

Also, Futuremark is now going into the gaming industry.

I still think it's amazing, trivial or not. 30K.

I'm betting 3DMark08 will support DirectX 10, but it'll run on XP as well. You'll just get a slightly lower score, since you can't test DX10 in XP, much like when you run a card without SM 2.0 on 3DMark.

One thing though, I hope they look to optimize their graphics. If their games look like their benchmark suites, they're only going to run on top of the line systems of the time. :~

Well it is DX10 and Vista is the only official DX10 OS so im guessing it'd be Vista only.

ya thats going to be a tough one to swallow, if they cant get anywhere close in Frames to that of Quake Wars, then forget it.

well, i don't know if he could afford it but i doubt it. as much equipment fugger is going
through. hard to make the money as fast as he would spend it.
it's kind of obvious that he gets most of the equipment fronted by the manufactureres
because they know it's good advertisement for them. plus they get there stuff out the lab
and see what it really can do.

considering that i can squeeze 11k out of my meager rig, even if i would go sli, it would not double my score which would still be very far from 30k.
my hat is up, welcome to the next level

Great how they conclude because of 30,000 3dmark06 using liquid nitrogen that it is

number one choice amongst overclockers, enthusiasts, and gamers.

I'm sure a lot of gamers have liquid nitrogen knocking about in their homes ;) I know I do.

Crash 'n' Burn XP. You never created a thread while ATI HD 2900XT broke all records previously?... cough.. without "liquid" nitrogen.

That was with 3DMark05. This thread is about 3DMark06 which liquid nitrogen was in fact used for two HD2900XTs used in Crossfire and barely beat a pair of 8800 Ultras being cooled with dry ice. The difference in temperatures? Dry ice is at least -78.5 C whereas liquid nitrogen is "liquid" between -196 C and -210 C.

Impressive nonetheless but oozing with fanboyism. :(
