maybe not quite. but......

catalyst supports certain mixed crossfire modes now apparently, so fudzilla have done some ever so quickie benches with a mixed setup. curious results, the mix n match practically a match for same (faster) model crossfire action in some applications. theres not enough tests here. but what it might suggest is that due to scaling being less than perfect it really doesnt matter as much as you would think having mismatched cards.

i like this feature even. it is interesting for possible upgrades and people in certain circumstances and situations. nvidia of course dont have anything like it either, which makes it pretty cool IMO.

It is a great ability. Say you have a 3850 and you buy a 3870 then you can just use both. At a later date when you buy a 3870x2 then you can use the 3870 and the 3870x2 etc

Does it work backwards to the 2*** series as well?
