you can install a second 7600GS (same model) in the second PCI-Express slot for SLI.

You can use differnt brands as long as the core is the same. You can even use a 7600GS 256mb with a 7600GS 512mb version. But its best to run two of the same memory size. The speeds dont even have to be the same .I had 2 Evga 6800GS 256mb cards that were differnt version. One was a super clock model and the other was a regular model with stock nvida clocks.I ran them to gether and they were fine but then i flashed the regular card with the super clocks bios and then it was great

rarely does it make financial sense to install two low end cards instead of a single faster GPU. if you sold the original card and had the money saved for the other card you planned on buying, you could probably buy a card faster than SLI 7600GS could ever be for the same money as two low end cards. SLI was always really intended as a performance option, two very fast cards to be even faster. its difficult to think of a situation in the past few years where two low end cards has ever made performance/price sense against one faster GPU.

for example, instead of two 7600GS in SLI you could get something like a 7900GT or X1950 pro for maybe 50-60 pounds, which are faster than said twin cards. but anyway, its just a point for consideration

True buts its fun to try and you can find a 7600GS for under $75 now.And im sure 2x7600GS's is as fast as a 7900GS or close enough. But if i were you id look to see if i could find say a Evga 8800GTS 320mb .I sold mine for $150 and i see a lot of them selling for around $175/$180 in the forums

genuine gaming cards are cheap anyway really, HD 3850 can be had for 90 pounds, and you can get a 8800GT for 130 pounds. still if thats too much a 7900GT for example would batter SLI 7600GS, if you are going for two DX9 cards in SLI, then it wont matter if you pick up a cheap but fast(er) single DX9 card like a 7900GT or X1950 series.

also i do know what you mean by its fun to try, i now run SLI 8800GT and just looking at them is fun for me lol im sad

i really cant afford a 8800gts and because i had my card at a reasonable price i think its my only option at the moment because i only have a small amount of cash available. i probably don't need another card its just that some of the people i play eve online with run 2 cards. i have never had a problem with eve myself and i run the high graphics version but i thought i might be missing out on something by not having the extra card.

i think i might save up for the 8800gts though i love the look of it :D

does it have the little slot for the SLI Bridge?

Because if it does just plug it in, plug the SLI Bridge in and you should be good.

Also, why do you need more graphics power if you can already run at high settings?

It doesnt matter what the box says - I believe ALL 7600GS cards are SLI capable (i.e have an SLI connector)

Lancool PC K62
Phenom II x3 @ 3.5Ghz
4GB DDR2-800
ASUS GTX570 DirectCU II

yes thank god it is sli capable. the high settings is what eve runs at and i dont know if you have ever played eve but the people i play with say that its will run a little smoother with a second card. like for instance when you jump from one sector to the next the uncloaking isnt choppy. mine isnt that bad but i thought i might try it and considering the first card only cost me 30 pounds and this new card is only 25 pounds i dont really have much to lose.

thanks for the aadvice guys i really do appreciate it.
