I was rolling around in WAR a few minutes ago when my monitor went dead (no signal). After rebooting, all seemed alright until I relaunched WAR only to find everything was messed:

Same stuff happens in CSS. Totally random occurrence, temperatures was never over 50 C. I'll try new drivers but I doubt that'll matter.

Is my card totally botched?

I'm afraid your card is dead. You could try cleaning the HSF and re-apply thermal paste, but I think you're ready for an upgrade.

If your card is under warranty, send it for RMA.

It might be drivers or overheating. Is it ok in windows?

If it is O.K in Windows, then I would say it is overheating. If its overclocked, then stick back to stock. If its at stock, you may have to underclock it a little bit.

But the first thing I would do is re apply thermal paste. The paste on that heatsink will be hard as rock.

Yeap, you should try the above recommendations or if you'd like a new card then you can try your luck with the warranty and maybe getting a much much better card than the 6600gt, since it's BFG I've had the luck ofsending a 6800oc and receiving from them a 6800Ultra free of charge which was the best card at it's time.

Bah, I've been putting off getting a new video card so this just pushed me over the edge. Bought a 9600 GT and an OCZ power supply.

I think its corrupted memory, probably damaged from either overheating or just did :( Probably would have been time for a new card anyway my friend lol.
