hmm.. i dont think that should be too much of a limiting factor, i heard goin sli or crossfire doesnt give that much of a performance boost.. the thing is, does it have PCI-e 2.0? wont i be needing that so i dont bottleneck the lanes?

P35 boards are all pci-e 1.0.OMG looking at you specs in your bio and it says 1.424v to run 2.8ghz.You really need a new board.

Aye, your volts should be at that if your clocked to 3.60GHz and above!!
For your current OC, you should be able to have the CPU on AUTO as well as the
RAM.

....I'm back, but only as a part-timer... :)

who said anything about 1.4 volts? if u look at my link below on my sign. u can see it says 1.3250v.. yea i figured it should be on auto, but as soon as i do that it freezes during gaming or watching videos, so it doesnt seem completly stable.. but then again, i havent tried it with the newest bios i just upgraded too, the board seems a whole lot more stable now..

okay guys, i just got a BSOD, didnt have a chance to see what it said, but im guessing it wasnt a completly stable oc...
Go into bios, figure ill scale down my oc to 1195 Fsb, so the memory would be at 3:2 @ 794mhz about...
so save bios, go out, my OC never got saved it seemed like (because i put it in 3:2 mode and not "syncronized"?)...
now it looks like the board is on standard clock,
but check out the voltages im getting on Core voltage:

That voltage is way too high for your current clock. I have my Quad set at 3.2ghz with 1.28 volt on my 680i. But then again I had to do a pencil v-mod to get it that low since without it it would crash due to voltage not being stable.

haha funny to see people replying to this still...

well to keep you guys up to date, (and this topic just happened to pop up when i was thinking of it) i got a Gigabyte P35-DS3 board for christmas, i still like the performance my quad offers and with this board i should be able to reach a stable 3ghz OC.. its still laying around in the box, and im pondering on upgrading it now at this very second.. however, i dont want to lose my GTA 4 save games :( !!

also, anyone know which is the best and stable bios revision for the DS3?
