I'm thinking of buying this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121278 to Replace my 8500 GT would it allow me to run new games on high settings even Crysis? Would it also be compatible with my mobo and compliment my system nicely?

I have the same CPU ( at 3.2ghz ) and the 4850 and 2GB extra ram and I can run it on high, it will be playable, but not SUPER smooth

Are you all really sure I won't need additional cooling because I keep hearing this card runs hot also my PSU is only 420w and I hear you require 550w to operate the card is that so or will it be fine?

what sort of 420W power supply are we talking about here? not all 420W PSU's are created equal.

First off that PSU will have to go. That 400+ power supply will really be under some strain. Add another 2gig of ram and you will be ok. A good high end 500 or 550 PSU would be more than enough power for the 4850. Yeah the 4850 runs farcry2 at ultra high setting for everything. I have everything set at max out settings and no over clocking to date.

The sapphire 4850 with the custom cooler takes care of any heat problems you might have so i recommend getting that one.

I would not trust that 450W psu to power that card....:blush:
