'you have mail' or similar alert programs?
 Date Written

Hello all:

I have been asked what programs there are that alert you when you receive an email. I know, of course, AOl does that with the famour 'you have mail' alert.

Is there I can add to IE so that I get that kind of audible alert? Any other program that downloads emails with this alert maybe?

Thanks in advance, Juan

As far as I know, most all email clients (Thunderbird, Outlook) have a slide-up notification that plays a default Windows sound that'll let you know you have email.

I used to use eprompter:

It checked my hotmail accounts automatically upon system startup, it started to hiccup after MS screwed around with hotmail about a year ago :X

Haven't tried it since but was a good app.
