Thats not a bad clock at all. My E6400 would go to 3.2Ghz with the stock cooler. ANy more required more voltage, and the stock cooler couldn't really handle it. (over 1Ghz oc on stock cooler is pretty nice though).

With good cooling, it would go to 3.6Ghz with a bump in vcore, but I usually kept it at 3.4-3.5

3.65 or thereabouts was where I got it on air - not too shabby. It was perfectly stable, but just a little too warm for my liking because I had to pump a decent bit of extravcore to get it to there.

With only a slight bump of vcore, it will stay at 3.4 24/7 with no issues and still be really cool.

My current OC is 3.60GHz at 1600FSB Multix9.
My best was Stable 3.80GHz at 1800FSB, and I'd a 4.0GHz,
which wouldn't stay stable long enough for a good prime or
games like Crysis. OC details are in my profile.

....I'm back, but only as a part-timer... :)

My router is overclocked from 200MHz to 275MHz. :) I had to hexdump the bootloader, mod it, and reflash it back to get it to go that high. :)

ahahahaha AHAHAHAHA Omg... :D

so is it now call an " in-nie " ?????

The only OC'n attempt that I have ever done was getting my previous cpu, Pent4 650 3.4ghz up to 3.8ghz without having to adjust any voltages... my cooler was a Z-9500. 3.8 was stable but ended up going back to stock because I'm a stock kinda man...

Just because someone is technically percise, does not mean they should be language deficient..... It's "there" not "their".
Another reason that Engineers should have a humanities background.

so far i've been able to take my Phenom II 720 BE to 3.51Ghz with a 17.5x multiplier, 200Mhz system bus, with 1.45Vs. it would fail a prime stress test in about 5 minutes but at least i was able to get to windows. im sure if i pump more voltage in it i could get it stable at 3.51Ghz but i don't really want to deal with the extra heat. once i get a bigger case though, i'll get a CoolIt Domino to keep it cool. 3.41Ghz stable for the time being for this guy. other than that, i haven't really been able to master the system bus overclock just yet so i don't know how high i can truly go. either way, HURRAY FOR BLACK EDITIONS!!!
