When I put my computer together some *clears throat* years ago, I built it in such a way that it would be able to handle most of the tasks for it's time - whether it was gaming, video/photo editing, etc. Surprisingly, my computer hasn't suffered too much over the years and is still very powerful. However, it is beginning to show it's age now.

What do I do you ask? Edit video (barely), edit music, rip/encode/burn DVDs (and CDs), surf the Internet, correspond through e-mail, chat, download/listen to music and... that's pretty much it. I don't use my computer for anything special. With that being said I could probably do with a low-end system but, I prefer my computer to be extremely responsive and to handle it's tasks with ease.

I'm a little surprised, i thought that at least 50% of high-end system owners would use it as a tool for work, let's say ESPECIALLY for work, but however, for most people it seems to be an entertainment center, which isn't a bad way at all, no!

I think the best feeling you get is when you can put up such a system by yoursekf and see it actually work and get even huge results with it, so you can see your fingerprint on it. Maybe be a little proud of yourself. ;)

Little joys of Life.

That's one of the main reasons for putting a system together - the sheer pride. However, the cost effectiveness doesn't hold true compared to 3 or even 4 years ago - at least that's the impression I've had for the longest time. My underlying point: it is expensive to put something good together. Anyone can build a low-end system for themselves but what point is there in doing that? If you're going make your own system, might as well make it with quality.

Yeap, you really need the 2nd GTx260 as a physics card since painball physics are a tremendous task.

*checks Windows Vista*

Why the hell is pinball missing from Vista? Pfff... no wonder they came out with Windows 7.
