  ATI Drivers Not Working
 Date Written
Louis Simpson Jan 02, 2010, 05:04pm EST Report Abuse
I've just built a new computer and I'm now at the stage of installing games and software. I've just installed the latest ATI Catalyst control for my ASUS 4850 ATI 1GB graphics card, and whenever I go to change the graphics in a game - I get an error report pop-up and the game crashes. The error pop-up is a typical windows error report message where you can have it sent off.

My Specs. are:-
Asus P5Q SE PLUS MotherBoard
Intel Core 2 Duo 3.00Ghz E8400 CPU
4GB Corsair RAM

It seems to only happen when I change, or go to change the graphics for any games on my PC. I have also downloaded an Hotfix for the ATI 4000 series of cards which supposedly fixes unreadable card issues. however, whenever I install this it says at the end that the ATI Display Driver failed to install. I've tried clearing all ATI drivers from my machine and re-installing it from the beginning but with no luck. It seems to happen even when I install the VGA drivers that came with the card. I haven't had any problems with this card in the past so it is hard to see what is going wrong. Any help, or solutions would be very much appreciated...

Thanks in advance!
