  Mic problem or pc problem?

Hi guys,

Recently purchase logitech G330 headset.

Connect it with the USB soundcard to the pc. Test it with XP sound recorder. Record and playback seems fine. But then i try to do the "Test Hardware" under the sound&audio control panel. There is this annoying noise generated and it is looping non-stop + the noise volume keep increasing as long as the mic is active.

I switch to the normal 3.5mm jack, same problem. I test it in Steam game/windows test hardware - both give me the same annoying volume increasing. I switch back to my old headset to test, now the old headset is acting like the new headset.

Previously the old headset is wrking fine in both the in-game/test hardware environment. Both the old and new headset record and playback seems to work perfectly fine in the windows recorder though.

Please advise

Tricky. Could be a possible software/driver issue. You can test completely removing the Sound Card drivers and Software and then completely re-installing from scratch. Make sure to get the latest driver and software.
