hey yall!

so i have not been on HWA in a couple of years. so im totally out of the loop...with everything
so straight to the point. im looking to upgrade my computer. currently i running a e8400 and and 8800 gts (g2). im thinking about building a new pc or upgrading what i have. the upgrade would consist of a q9550 and a 470gtx. or should i go ahead and build a i5 system? im on a small budget so the cheaper and best performance would be great. so im looking at the i5-750
and building a system around that. would it be worth it? or just stick with the upgrading to the q-9550? or just stay with the 8400 and get a new video card? would i see i difference in either or? its been for ever and need a little help..

thanks

If you overclock the Q9550 it will be fast enough to feed the video card... If you're going to leave the CPU at stock speed you'll need the i5 to keep pace.

get the i5. if you have a microcenter or frys or TigerDirect near you, most of those throwing the i7 930 around for $199. this would be an even better option and is only $10-20 more then the i5 750 at standard pricing or look for a cheap i7 860 if you prefer to stay on the p55 platform, which is overall a cheaper path.

You can either be part of the problem or be part of the solution.
