I've started watching The Office in this site that has all the videos streamed through Megavideo, all is good but since I'm not a premium member they limit it to 72 mins. In my home I just go to the modem/router and click on disconnect the internet tab on the GUI and reconnect it again, it all takes about 10 seconds and It seems that it changes the ip and whatnot and I'm back to watching the office. But in my apartment I can't do that.

Anyone knows of a successful way of avoiding the time limit?

I tried that but it didn't work. Even the /flushdns command.

For Firefox there is an addon called Illimitux which does it.

http://www.illimitux.net/

That might be it, can't be sure though, the page won't load.

ipconfig /renew (in cmd.exe)

If you're connected to a router, that'll only change your LAN IP:
for example, from 192.168.1.143 to 192.168.1.120. Your WAN IP (which is what websites will see) won't change. :(

If you release/renew your WAN DHCP lease (via your router, or via your machine if you're directly connected to your modem), you may or you may not get a new IP from your ISP, depending on your service.

If Megavideo logs a cookie with your minutes used, changing your IP won't help unless you clear your cookies. If they log which IP has used how many minutes server-side, the only thing you can do is use a new IP (which is the same effect achieved by using a proxy).
