I just got this bad boy today. It was on sale for $149.99 with free shipping and a $30 MIR.So i got it for $119 basically even though i havent got the MIR yet.

Problem is what do i do with my 120 OCZ Agility 2?Do i run just two SSD's and sell my 1TB Cavair Black or run all three. The Corsiar will be my boot drive since my mobo supports Sata 3 i might as well take advantage of it right. What would you do?

I'd hold on to the Agility 2 drive for at least a few months. Might even want to try it (the Corsair 3) on a few different motherboards to see if problems show-up depending on hardware interface.

My memory may be off on this, but I seem to recall numerous posts of problems with the Corsair 3 drives after a burn-in period, where they reportedly turned into bricks. But, that also seems to happen with a few other late generation SATA III SSD drives (from what I've read esp OCZ)...hence the possible memory conflating. Controller/interface problems?

congrats on the ssd, i saw a similar sale on TigerDirect and could almost not resist.
i would sell the agility as long as it is worth something. most SF based drives have the same or similar issues. intel just is still the most reliable.

since you have a z68 board you could also use the drive or part of it as a smartcache for 1tb drive

You can either be part of the problem or be part of the solution.

Mothow,

We sort of have an ongoing hard drive "great deals" / prices thread going on here
http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/77290/
Perhaps someone would start up a better titled, hard drive deals thread like
Smoking Hard Drive/SSD Deals similar to my thread,
Smoking Desktop RAM Deals... at
http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/77413/

or, you could rename this thread to do this?
or...I could create another "Smoking Deals" kind of thread to do it if no one else wants to.

It would essentially create another informal "Smoking Deals" sub-section on HWA of deals vetted by HWA members.

Good good, probably in 2 more years we'll have 500gb SSD for cheap. Maybe then I'll upgrade my entire system and not just the video card.

I don't think anything really "smoking" at this point, since we are still in short supply of hard drives with jacked up prices. Last I look, Newegg don't even have 2.5" 7200RPM 1TB SATA 3.0Gb/s drives I am looking for, sigh... :|

Can't wait 'til WD/Seagate get their plants back up production...

Check reviews, etc before making any purchase decision. Note also that some devices do NOT come with cables, mounting hardware, etc. Read the product pages!

Warning!: some so-called "rebates" these days actually issue you a "rewards" debit card that charges $X transaction fees and $Y/month "service" fees, and may expire within 12 months from the ISSUE date (which could take several months right off the top from the date you actually receive the thing). Read the rebate terms thoroughly as small rebates could end up being worth virtually NOTHING by the time you can redeem them.
