Greetings

I would create a new fresh norton ghost image of my fresh xp install. My question is what drivers shall I uninstall from the current running system (or even install) before saving the ghost image that I may eventually need to reinstall after an eventual system crash.

Of course the saved image will be installed in another machine with different hardware and therefore needing other drivers different than the first machine.

Thanks in advance.

If you;re gonna do a ghost for another machine - install no drivers

In fact, I wouldn't use ghost at all.

Ghost is a great way to speedily restore an OS, but it is a lousy way to move an OS from one machine to another.

A better way would be to ghost the drive (for backup purposes) move the drive to the new machine and do a repair install. But even that will result in a bloated, clunky and potentially unstable installation of XP.

The best option of all is a fresh install, and migrate your data. Is there any reason that you cannot do that?
