Has anyone here used Display Port? Share your experience.

So, probably as you've already heard, that Display Port is likely going to replace the legacy VGA and DVI connectors in future PCs. The most significant improvement / innovation, as I read, is that you can use 1 display port for displaying to multiple monitors using some kind of display switch in between (or by daisy chaining the monitors). That's because its data transmission uses packets, which can be "routed" to different monitors, as similar to a computer network. Also, just like HDMI, it can carry audio signal as well. One thing that I do dislike is that the development history of display port originated from Apple... :/

Anyway, at this point, I don't have any device using the display port. My older PCs are still using the good old VGA and/or DVI, while the newer ones have HDMI. I am wondering if anyone here has used Display Port. If yes, please share your experience / opinions of how it compares to older display ports, and if it's just another piece of technology that will be forgotten or it's here to stay for good. Thanks!

We put many workstations into production on a weekly basis and so far, there have been no requests for workstations with these ports. My guess is that it's going to be a while before the Display Port replaces VGA/HDMI/DVI; there's just to many workstations out there with current technology.

Yeah, not many monitors with display port either, at least not with reasonable price. But then laptop makers are already making that port available in many of their laptop models.
