I have had two spot errors pop up in the last 3 days or so. 0x0000007e (0xffffffffc0000005, oxfffff8000c1bb0f7, 0xfffff880009a91e8, 0xfffff880009a8a40). The ityer I will post later I have to find it. I have windows 7 on it, so I pulled out the hd and put a older hd into it that had windows xp, it started with out a blue screen unlike before. Now I have a message *A problem has prevented windows from accurately checking the status of the license for this computer. To proceed your copy of windows must be activated with Microsoft.* is there any way around this I just want to get into the computer to update to windows 7 that I have. Any other info you need to help me please let me know. Thanks

This is what pirated versions of OSes bring in. I have a doubt....Is you windows 7 a genuine operating system?

If yes, I am sure that the license got compromised somewhere at distributor, seller or end user level. Normally, you can use licenses on one or two systems or at the most 3 systems. While purchasing the genuine operating system, it will be written on the DVD box about how many systems it can be loaded upon. Actually, all depends on the investment though.

If you have the OS loaded on a DVD or pen drive use that to come out of this error ( only for windows 7 OS where everything is done by the system and you need not involve in its repair) For XP I guess you need to go for a repair option in it.

If it is a pirated version then there is a crack version available online for win 7. You can try it, but I don't think it is reliable.

I think by placing the Operating System CD you can come out of this situation

Thanks I will have to ask my friend, it was his computer that he gave to me. He did the reformating to wipe off all his work stuff and personal documents before I picked it up from him.
